Giovanni Chahine
Giovanni Chahine, an aspiring physician, grew up in Claremont, California, where his passion for community service was sparked by his love for soccer.
This passion led him to serve San Bernardino County by organizing free soccer clinics for local youth. His dedication to giving back deepened through four years of experience working in the emergency department at a nonprofit hospital, where he witnessed firsthand the harmful effects of medical misinformation.
Now a graduate with a degree in Allied Health, Giovanni is committed to empowering underserved communities by promoting health literacy and combating medical misinformation through education and outreach. He strives to continue this mission as a future physician.
Our Story
Growing up during the COVID-19 pandemic, Giovanni Chahine and Rami Ezzeddine witnessed firsthand the devastating impact of widespread medical misinformation.
This era saw a significant spike in false health claims and misunderstandings, such as claims concerning complex medical topics like tumorigenesis and vaccines, often propagated by less educated family members and viral social media posts.
Motivated by these challenges, Rami and Giovanni were inspired to found FactCheck MD, an organization dedicated to curbing the spread of medical misinformation and providing reliable, scientifically accurate information to the public.
It is now that we present to you: FactCheck MD, where we are on a mission to empower individuals with the knowledge they need to navigate the complex landscape of medical information online.
Our team is committed to conducting thorough research, verifying sources, and debunking myths to ensure that the public has access to accurate, science-based information that they can rely on and consequently spread themselves.
